I cannot find any historical name for this unit like Sea hawks or Combat junks, which was kinda what I was hoping for. Just seems to be a sort of sensationalist cool thing that the Chinese built.

Sorry you could not find any name but yes it to me is a very picture of man and very creative ideas. However I think it was a flop because it is just a big target for catapults and by the way it moved SLOW!!!
