I see, although its atk is almost completely useless against other ships but its main purpose is to act as a fast transport. May be it cannot garrison wagons or else it would make transport ships obsolete and since its a "light cavalry" should it have some bonus against siege ships?

Hi stratego, how about making it as upgrade of the transport ship?

That could work

However we planned some ship trait upgrades along with dock upgrade
(sails, hull, spy glass etc -)

So depends the final concept what affects what.

those suggestions were b4 gallease was implemented with 6 speed, and sailing tech only affects units with sails, so then gallease will have 7 speed after researchin...

Still
Theoretically transport Shipsuse sails too

All very exposed to fire.

But what wud be nice those tech like
More cargo/spacious storeroom (adds +1 carry)
Strong hull (+max hp)
Navigation (+1 speed, additional revealed reefs(stealth trap like building)
Etc.

Do u think should open a new topic for those or keep discussion in one of this two since in a way link to either one.?

From my studies, I have become somewhat of an enthusiast about naval warfare and ships. So I hope that my knowledge will help move this post forward to the votes.
The Caravel was one of the earliest ships of the "Age of sail" time period. The Caravel was used by the Portuguese as an exploratory vessel and many discovery's of the 15th and 16th century were discovered by Caravels.
Later the Spanish, British and French made Caravels mainly for their speed and agility, however I still want to talk about the Caravels significance in world history.
Vasco De Gama used a flotilla of Caravels to find a new rout to India by sailing around the tip of Africa.
Another man named Magellan, sailed with a flotilla of Caravels and made history as the first man to circumnavigate the globe (but came home in a coffin.)
As we have seen, the Caravel was a useful ship but lets discover what made it so great. Thanks to it being lanteen rigged, (triangle sails) the Caravel could sweep in close to shore so observers could make maps of the shore line.
And thanks again to its lightly built hull, this ship was considerably faster then most ships of the time; however with lack of armor this ship was not a ship for war.
But in many situations the Caravel did have guns (Vasco De Gama sunk many Arabian ships with his guns) so this could possibly be an upgrade? In conclusion, the Caravel's distant cousin- the Carrack was almost the exact opposite because it was heavily armored and was used for war and trade.
The Caravel was a ship of its time and was used for many years but became obsolete thanks to better rigging and ship design.

Major notes:

1. Speedy.
2. Was one of the first ships of the age of sail.
3. Not well armed or armored.
4. Used primary for exploration and transportation until the mid 16th century.
5. It was not very big.

suppose it is an upgrade of transport ship

with a tech cost of 5

first post stat would b quite balanced, with unit cost being 4, 1 carry capacity that can carry anything

How about:
Caravel - Self-sufficient exploration ship used for long travels. It can carry 1 non-mechanical unit. It can repair itself a little.

Cost 5
Sight 8
Attack 6
Range 4
Speed 6
Hp 40
armor 0/2
Mend rate 3
Mend range 0
(I don't know if it will work actually, but here's json)

If it has mend rate that means that it can build things correct? Like a barrack in a new territory?

Nope.
Only like mend ship, but on itself and really little repair - 3 points is not even enough to fix fire damage.
The point of this self-repair ability is to slowly go to full hp as it travels and to stop burning.
