Women were not warriors. Besides it wasn't the role of the woman to fight.
The only female warriors i can think of are d'arc and some female norse(wo)men but they were few.

There are plenty of women in history that have taken up the sword. Especially in Germanic and other cultures that fought against Roman conquest of their homelands. But these are mostly stories of women that belonged to the higher classes of society. As for the woman of common birth it will probably never be known. This is because they did not bother with recording the rank and file participants. So having a female unit would be a stretch unless it was a heroine like Joan of Arc.
