High Profile Game: Daniel vs Alex

Post by COOLguy »

I am referring to the "Open 2" game in League Phoenix between Daniel (the dev) and Alex486. Is there anyone else who is interested in how this game will end up? Like screenshots play by play. :D
Thanks!

Two days is probably not enough considering we really didn't get playing until yesterday.

I currently lead by 51 points and control most of the board. Daniel could kill off 3 archers of mine on this turn and possibly take the lead. For the next tournament, we should make each bracket 1 week long. That will enable a good 5 days of play to see a decisive outcome. I'll post screen shots of the contested area once I get my PC booted up bc my phone pics are too large to upload.

Daniel is in red, i am in blue.

In the photo he is attempting to come down the mountain for the second time. I am not sure how much he can see, so I have the screen kinda cut off. What you can't see are my defenses and material coming north to meet him. I am trying to outflank him on the north right side of the board. On the left side, I have a fully built tower that is able to smack his stable (see it is in yellow damage status) and the mountain.

Board wise, Daniel has a disadvantage in space. Knowing the board, he is limited on where he can build and the control point (mountain pass in center and the bridge on the right side) will keep him bottled up. Eventually I can use the space to bring cats and trebuchet to crush the hill base and infrastructure.

I think I have played the map a dozen times. Players in the north usually have a disadvantage in my opinion.

I would love to hear Daniel opinion.

Wow, this is exciting. Looks like no one can bring siege works around because of the forest. It does look like Daniel is short on space for castles.
Thanks!

This screenshot is from about 6 to 8 turns since the last screen shot.

Since then, I have repelled two advancements by Daniel from the mountain and am now advancing on the mountain. I have also cleared the all unit producing buildings and upgrade structures from the mountain and am targeting build structures on the other side of the mountain. Daniel has pushed my right side flank attack back and now we have a no man's land zone from the river to his tower.

Space continues to be an issue for Daniel in my opinion.

I am currently leading by about 450 points.

Any way we can change the size limitation of the file up load? My phone takes screen captures of like 1.5 megs and to upload it, I have to download it to my pc, open it, uae another screen capture program to copy it, and then oaste it in paint, scale it down, save it to see if I can get it under the file size limit of 256k.
