for me some troops can shield and dodge it by itself to the enemies turning attack. if you add some unit skills that can evade the attack by enemy or the enemy can evade your attack I think that this is challenging game.

dodge mechanic is in aof for elves, in aos some units have potential like the fencer or zulu swardbegter (none of them are in yet) or samurai, whether basic melee units can get dodge or not is pretty much up to debate
