Redesign: trebuchet new image - IMPLEMENTED

Post by Stratego (dev) »

i think this one needs a new image too - i grabbed the AOK trebuchet and modified a little, but i had no time to contour - and finalize reworking it.
if anyone have time to finish it (contour and rework) - or to make a totally different one that would be awesome.

awesome!
except that trebuchets has no "spoon on them" they have a long rope fixed to the end of the arm, and at the end of the rope there is a sling like stuff that holds the rock (or cow :)) to throw.

see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trebuchet

Yes, I bellieve the spoon is what defines a catapult as a catapult instead of a trebuchet

it is already awesome despite of the spoon so i could not wait - so i just put the "little spoon" version into the games,
(but still waiting a modification (eliminating the spoon)! thanks!)

nice !
suggestions:
- smaller projectile 2/3 size.
- removing the spoon from the end of the arm
- maybe a shorter rope (by 3-4 px)

but nice image!

Try drawing two ropes that start from the sides of the projectile and "merge" on the tip of the trebuchet (something like the sling of the master slinger)

Cool! Sorry guys for failing you. :( ;)
Lol, duh, I knew that - my brain must have been shut off when I was doing it. :D
I think actually that a trebuchet was defined as the use of counterweights as propulsion (maybe).
Thanks!

hmmm I like the first one with the shorter rope. :)

And Coolguy yeah I think you might be right, never seen a catapult with a counterweight now that I think of it

That's what he meant, I think. Because this is a trebuchet.
I like either the first or third one.
Thanks!

Yeah, thats what I meant, coolguy. And I think it can be agreed that the second one with the weird rope is out :)
