Samurai's defence is low . They have one of the best armors ... but ..
What hapens if we upgrade samurai to elite samurai
Or imperial samurai
Hatamoto is another unit ... it can be upgraded to aramusha.or elite hatamoto
In samurais upgrade his armor will nicly improved
Sounds fun for samurai fans....

it has quite high armor, just no p.armor as samurai is vulnerable to archers, and samurai is already upgraded to hatamoto which also has bonus against infantry, u need dojo to upgrade samurai

If you look at the armor you see that it is also effective against arrows.
The main problem in my opinion is that if the samurai had better armorit should cost 4 at least.

Nope u r underestimating the force of an arrow, while not fatal, it can still pierce through armor, and besides hatamoto is quite useful with 4 speed and high damage, I don't even know y u seek new upgrade of samurai

Plus the hatamoto has some crazy bonuses on buildings and defenses. So I really don't think we need another upgrade.

Yes . This was just an idea .. we can put a new type of japanise swords man like:KENSEI.OR.ODACHI SAMURAI

I think you underestimate the strength of hardened steel.
If thik gamberson can stop logbow arrows how good do you think a steel plate will do.
The armour of samurai is eqivalent to european plate armour eccept it had more or weaker weak spots.
Realism aside i dont thik the samurai needs a buff.

Maybe we need a new unit in samurai type
