Are camel's op ???? IMPLEMENTED
Are camel's op ???? IMPLEMENTED
Ok I kind of found thit out after mindlessly rushing into war with coolguy, beforin the game I unlocked all upgrade.
which may or may not be comming back to haunt me at the moment.
( laugh and I declare war on you to you ... )
P.S. I may not have all the upgrades but I will still kill u promise
The Camel Rider may be a bit op... I mean the thing literaly has no weekness
I mean even the pikemen pose no nearly threat to them.
I think that it needs a reasonable weakness to make to comparable to other units in the game.

Re: Are camel's op ????
Pikemen need to have a bonus on the mameluks. around 250% I think, would be good.
Thanks!

Re: Are camel's op ????
They have no bonus as an accident - we moved the Mameluks out of the mounted knights category.
I will email Daniel.

Camel Rider
The day is coming when a single carrot, freshly observed, will set off a revolution.
Re: Are camel's op ????
I think they should get affected by blacksmith techs, or else heavy knights outclass them greatly (average speed, attack, health, armour)
I dont know what camel fear does though, anyone know?

I'm finding that camels are useful.
Especially against all the units of RoseWarrior

Re: Are camel's op ????
Well Hardeepl they are not meant to be in the same category as knights. They are kind of their own seperate support/combat unit.

Re: Are camel's op ????
Pikes now have a bonus against them. So the Mameluks should be useful but not invincible now.
Thanks!

Re: Are camel's op ????
Awesome. And lancers? I think they SHOULDN'T have a bonus against mamlukes, since that does not really make sense.

Re: Are camel's op ????
I think lancers should have bonus .If they don't have bonus, lancers will become totally useless.
Re: Are camel's op ????
I agree but they would both have a advantage aginst each other with the lancers boune aginst mounted unites, and the camel riders camel fear ability... so I think it would come down to who attacks firsttamtam12345 wrote:I think lancers should have bonus .If they don't have bonus, lancers will become totally useless.

Re: Are camel's op ???? IMPLEMENTED
But shouldn't lancers' horses be afraid to charge against a mameluke? I imagine them shying away

Re: Are camel's op ???? IMPLEMENTED
But the Lancer's attack is minus 5'ed by the Camel fear
So 5-5 times a 99999999999% bonus is still 0 Don't attack camels with Lancers

Re: Are camel's op ???? IMPLEMENTED
Huh? I used to think that, but once upon a time I remember someone told me that the game engine automatically considers 0 attack as 1, so a unit with 0 attack and massive bonus can still one hit a unit. This didn't sound right when I first heard it, but how does it actually work? Now I'm confused.

Re: Are camel's op ???? IMPLEMENTED
I think they are balanced. They have 4 move on practically all but a handful of maps. And they are brought down rather easily from concentrated ranged fire/pikemen.
Except for the fact that they seem to be affected by high morale, while no other cavalary types are

Yea archers tend to have that effect on peopleDoomCarrot wrote:They are brought down rather easily from concentrated ranged fire/pikemen.

Re: Are camel's op ???? IMPLEMENTED
ok, but the 2 pierce armor is still hard against archers i think. but i can be wrong.
Re: Are camel's op ???? IMPLEMENTED
Yea it takes around 6- 8 fully upgraded crossbowmen to take out one camel... luckily crossbowmen cost half the cost to make compared to the camel... but lowering the p.armour by one might help but I just don't know what the effect that would have... mounted units are supposed to have an edge over archers

Re: Are camel's op ???? IMPLEMENTED
The thing is that it costs 5 turns. Maybe we can lower the p. armor, but DoomCarrot is right when he says that on most maps the camel is slow.
Oops, that should change.DoomCarrot wrote:Except for the fact that they seem to be affected by high morale, while no other cavalary types are

Re: Are camel's op ???? IMPLEMENTED
Yes, I think with 5 turn cost, they are actually quite inferior to the heavy knight in almost every category.
They are just good against other cavalry, that is all.

Mamkluke can go into battering rams and siege mantlet. That is strange.
Another thing is you have two camel rider, when emeny knights are in both two camel riders spell range(camel fear),when one of camel rider died, emeny knights in dead camel rider spell range will not receive spell by alive camel rider if both don't move.

Re: Are camel's op ???? IMPLEMENTED
Yes, that seems to be an issue with centurion/banner bearer as well. If you have 2 centurions near an infantry, and one centurion dies, the infantry loses his bonus. You must move the other centurion for the bonus to take effect again.
