Hahaha.
Maybe we could have an unofficial one, for next month..
Maybe maps can only be 10x10 or 5x5 lol
Maybe can only use Pikeys.
Anything lol

General map making extravaganza?
Can make any type of map you want? (Hungarian for bonus ;))
How long a time limit is long enough to make a good map? Apparently, I underestimated the time it would take to test and judge the maps...
Thanks!

Honestly it depends on what the map makers going for
My Roman map took about 4 days not including Html.
But really it depends if you have a set path or room to compromise (i didn't have any)
But you need time on top of time to make time to work on your map which will frustrate you from time to time :D
15 days? Pm likely mapmakers... and let the rest see the post

I usually spend 1 day in research/story (including intro which i seldomly make)
Then i design the map with decorations and place the starting units - 1 day
Then i do the triggerring, which takes 1-2 days depending on how heavily the map is triggered

However most of the times i find my map making limited due to the absence of a trigger condn/effect etc.

Hence, 1 week should suffice, provided all triggers req are in place and available
BEWARE!!!!The long lost empire of phoenicia is rising- The world is but just near the golden age, wherein men played and frolicked, without any worries at all

Yeah a week should be plenty to make a map. I pretty much take around 1-2 hours on map design, 20mins placing characters. Then 30mins on story.
Thats the easy bit lol.
Triggers can take me ALOT of time. Sometimes im testing for 4-5hrs on a single trigger, seeing if i can make it work, or as close as i can.
Sometimes need a break, or have RL crap to do
A week should be plenty imo ;)

A week is plenty if everyone comes here and talks about the competition :D
If its out of the blue you need a lot more time
