You're saying the maps i rated aren't finished, i hope so cause a part of me died seeing all of those maps :(
If they aren't done than why have they been submitted? :|

hardeep: read this section and u will understand why they are there, and they are only for forumers who know why are they there.
(ghaul map was an exception i put that only for myself to see the progress of the map.)

I know why they are there, but how are the maps given to you if they are not finished (i see no reason to send a map without it being complete without contacting you beforehand, maybe they did this?)

With that being said, does this mean the other 0/0/0 maps i rated might be incomplete? How would we know?

I wish there was a way that we could contact the creators of the maps we are rejecting. I mean, yes there are plenty of horrible (and seemingly unfinished) maps, but we could tell them the reasons why the map will not be implemented as well as give them tips to make it better.
Thanks!

It would be a very rosy suggestion, but i fear that many people would feel slighted no matter how we reject the maps.
Also it would take time (playing the map, drawing a presentable summary for someone who has no idea about the mapmaker in general) to do this. Some maps for example the 300 A Acensao emperio seem like they were just made for no reason whatsoever and i doubt creators of such blasphemous maps would care what serious mapmakers that want to add to the game have to say. And then theres the very likely possibility of hordes of maps made by the mentioned above mapmakers that really just have time to kill, and too few real dedicated or even intrigued players.

The gaul map is made by me and i had sent it to dev because i wanted to take dev's opinion on the design and units. I dont have any option of snapshot available on my phone so i sent him the incomplete map file so that he could see it. He can view a map only after implementing so he added it to the fan map section(i still dont see it there though)

Now as far as i know you can easily make out whether a map is incomplete if the map has no units on the other side!
For eg my map only has romans, no gauls. They are yet to be implemented.
So next time you check a map , check it with logic, not just by playing it.
And even now if you dont get which maps are complete, then try asking dev which maps he wants to be checked. Maybe many maps you mentioned maybe shit. But maybe not all

Dev my suggestion to you: post a list of the maps to be checked along with the creators name
This will end the confusion

Not too much longer than what you have done. It takes less than a minute or so to see any mandatory fixes (such as terrain faults or wrong units). After that you can see how a map is likely to be played out. Remember that FAN maps are not awarded with gems, because they are likely to be "stupid, double stupid, easy, etc."

Remember that mapmaking is not a "superpower" - it takes practice. So "blasphemous" mapmakers could become better with practice.
Hardeep wrote:Some maps for example the 300 A Acensao emperio seem like they were just made for no reason whatsoever and i doubt creators of such blasphemous maps would care what serious mapmakers that want to add to the game have to say. I disagree. There is a reason that they sent the map in - they would like to see it in the game. So I think they would be willing to listen to and do a lot to see them in.

I think it is better to respond and give a few reasons why their map was rejected rather than just ignoring them. I think it would be a better way to build and support fans.

But that is neither here nor there. As it stands there are a lot of bad maps, but we can help Daniel weed out the horrible ones and recommend the ones with more promise to him. :)
Thanks!

yes i already stated that this topic is absolute not about your gaul map, so please dont get any comment about maps as they were talking about your gaul map.

Hardeep: please talk nicer about maps, the map creators would not be happy reading such things, and yes, there are many maps made by unexperienced mapmakers, but eventually some of them will become better and better, and will make much nicer maps than I could ever make - i am sure -> the world is big and there are many types of people out there - so we can stumble into several very good mapmakers.

Well i have a suggestion on the terrain, a lot of the things in the walled area are actually obstacles and would make moving very hard, i suggest you look under the "obst." Heading in mapmaker to identify the mentioned obstacles. Also i like deersies, but with such a great host of men they would habe been hunted for sport long before they formed ranks, just a minor tidbit. And shrubbery shouldn't float on water.

Okay ill be nice, sorry for any offense caused
More reviews
Terrain/units/playability
Frotress, Lions Lair, Romen seige Og Jerusalem, The pass, Lithers
Booted back to map menu instantaneously

Erincs map
6/8/7
Nice map, compact but balanced, not overwhelming, not triggered. Highly suggest if name could be "<title> by Erinc"

Freedom day
2/0/0
I feel like they did not put people on the right team as it is impossible to win, also tiles are weird in some place

A Lords War
6/3/4
Wrong units/structures used, yellow is overpowered, at the moment probably very unbalanced

Ambush
0/0/0
Story has no relation whatsoever, too many hero units, tie fighters, seems like a mass of coagulated units, some units have wrong colours incorrect castles, tower spam

Legio
5/1/4
Too bulky by its lonesome, many units but forseeable win with ease, i am undecided

NO
0/0/0
If the phrase:" santa clause and british firework ships allied with darth vader against uncle sam and his army of shadow kings"
Appeals to you, play this map. If not, then just NO

River pass
1/0/4
Easy, uninteresting and time consuming

Done for now,
And also, if you plan on keeping the public publishing thing, at least add another step to publish. If not, theres a reason you are the dev but keep in mind
a husk of your former self,

lol your description of the "NO" map. :) It is too bad that people seem to like overusing so many hero units.

Kill barbarian
Terrain 4
Units 5
Playability 7
Triggering 1
Summary- Not bad, but not amazing either.
Though I enjoyed it more than most fan maps.
Two Viking units are used.

10 by 10
Terrain 2
Units 3
Playability 4
Triggering 0
Summary - Very easy and not much fun.
Old style castles are used

Test
Terrain 8
Units, minus 3
Playability 3
Triggering 0
Summary, like a mad mans dream, everything from Uncle Sam, to a spawn tower
(and everything in between) also has old style castles.

I have reviewed the 'Attack on Whiterun' Map.

Scores:
Terrain: 1
Units: 3
Playability: 2
Trigger Use: N/A.
Summary: Map too large, almost no terrain, yellow team too powerful. Would not recommend.

Reviewed 'Romes Worst Nightmare' map.

Terrain: 3
Units: 4
Playability: 1
Trigger Use: N/A
Summary: Too easy, finished in 5 turns (out of 20 for 3 star victory) with most of my units left.

Reviewed 'Pet Battle' map.

Terrain: 3
Units: 4
Playability: 2
Summary: An interesting idea, using only the scout units in a battle. Once the novelty wears off, it becomes fairly unremarkable.

I have reviewed the 'Jkirkian Uprising' map.

Terrain: 6
Units: 5
Playability:4
Trigger Use: N/A
Summary: A few issues, but good potential. Terrain looks pretty good, but too easy at the moment.
Completed in 9 turns, while you need 20 for a 3 star victory.

I suggest the following changes:
1. Reduce the number of assassins to 2 or 3.
2. Remove the holes in the road, the grass texture pops through.
3. Give the enemy a barracks or unit production building.
4. Use different rocks or other obstacles for the walls.
Other than that, It's good.

Played the 'Hide' map.

Terrain: 4
Units: 7
Playability: 6
Summary: I enjoyed the map. Just a couple of issues,:
1. It's hard to see units placed behind the rocks. The rocks should be replaced with hill textures.
2. the terrain seemed a bit bland to me, maybe add some decorations.
Other than that, it's good!

"War Of The Lycaonis Tribes"
Terrain: 3
Units: 1
Playability: 1
Triggers: 0
Summary: I did not find it enjoyable. There were too many TC's everywhere and was no challenge; just a little long. But it had TDS and Heroes which was a deal killer.

"War"
Did not work

"The Lost"
Terrain: 0
Units: 5
Playability: 5
Triggers: 0
Summary: It was easy but pretty fun. There were terrain bugs and no decorations. Fix those, add star levels and maybe a little story then I would recommend this to be implemented.

"The Hunt"
Terrain: 8
Units: 2
Playability: 4
Triggers: 0
Summary: it was a nice surprise. The terrain was very good. There were a lot of animals around (dogs, deer, and bears) to fit the story "A king hunting". But it was incredibly easy - I finished in half the turn limits. And there were many of Patroid's Crusader units.
Thanks!
