Here two of the great battles of the star wars saga, I think they're a great inspiration for map design later. I've added some images :).

Well, I don't remember of battle fought on the tatooine, but the battle of Hoth is good.
pls post another link, because I can't open the wiki link you posted

Would you like to make these maps?

I would make The random maps first (cause I'm playing the game in them most of the time), but then I need The possibility to add tiles (like The snow and The desert ground, some cliffs and hills).

I think I created some tmx maps before, but I'm not sure what an application I used

Well, you should use Tiled. I think that is a good tmx creator. you can find where to download in the Aos section of the foeum.

yes, you can use the AOS verison of map creation pack, but there are only terrain tiles in it.
i will extend it with space objects to let you build space maps also. (it will be there in 1 day i hope)

until that you can build terrain maps for starwars using the AOS / FAQ "how to build an user map" info-pack.

ehm, I unpacked The starwars apk yesterday and removed some sw-untypical tiles with desert, crates, Mountains

Ok, here a screenshot of some of the tile changements for Tatooine
these are cool! you are great!

I have created a pack in the FAQ section (viewtopic.php?f=39&t=149) with a tileset that have many space on the bottom (made from the AOS tileset) you can fill up the empty (red) spaces below the existing tileset to have special maptiles for the starwars maps.

if you put into the attached image (terrain.png) the new tiles you have than i can refresh the tileset image in the FAQ)

The new tiles are pretty cool! keep up the good work!
put them into the terrain.png and they will be in the game! and create as many maptiles into the new section as you can imagine!

you did it pretty well!
And they look pretty nice!
Do as many new tiles you desire!

suggestions
- the tattoine text is temporary i guess :)
- you made a "hole" like thing from the oceans (or an dried-out sea), that is cool, but do you want land units to be able to walk on the darker part? If so then some entering possiblity will be needed, since (i guess) the "shore" tiles will not be passable to them, or it will be completely passable?
- and you made an elevated one also - the same question triggers.

The text on the right is remporyray, but I think we should structure the texture pack better in future (no two texture themes in one row). I'll add some desert huts and maybe the giant vehicle later for a better feeling.

Additionally I updated the terrain.png like, some small ugly things are fixed there

Ok, last act for today, the map is in the attachments, I'm not sure if the tileset link is correct. Daniel, could you try to add it into the game as random map with the holes and highlands like the mountain, non-enterable?

I'll learn a little bit for the exams tomorrow now ;/

where is the latest one? I did not find it (i suppose you have not attached it)
could you try to add it into the game as random map
sure what i need are these (i did not find them)
- the last terrain.pong
- the last units.png (for a random it is not needed)
- the .tmx file you drew
