Similar to putting wave point on a unit to move to a certain area
Commands: attack - set a unit to kill an enemy and it'll automatically do so by itself
Commands: defend - set a unit to defend one of your own units or an allies and it'll do so by itself
Commands: patrol - unit will guard an area and attack any enemies that get near

set a unit to defend one of your own units or an allies and it'll do so by itself
how would this work?
always follows the protected unit? from what far? and how to detect protected unit got attacked? only when get injured? or all enemy nearby gets target to attack?
patrol - unit will guard an area and attack any enemies that get near
you mean you want your unit to move here and there? isnt it better being in one place?
in general:
Q1: waypoint is executed only on your end turn, all these new ones should execute on end turn?
Q2: are they mutually exclusive? (i believe yes)
Q3: if we make the "next unhandled unit" button than these should be excluded from highlights - right?

Lots of question so ill answer best of my ability
The defend command will work by setting a unit to defend another.
For melee units, if the enemy within the defender movement range, that unit will attack it.
For range units, they can easily strike an enemy within its range
Patrol, better in one place? No?
Patrol pretty much setting a unit to go to certain points on repeat ( so it'll never stop doing it unless player stops its cycle )
And just like the first one.
For melee units, if the enemy within the defender movement range, that unit will attack it then move back to its course.
For range units, they can easily strike an enemy within its range
A1. Yes
A2. Yes
A3. Unsure what you mean.
