Re: English units
That's kinda a problem cause there's no text to this types of unit except I guess from the AOS
You know, it's weird for me that Ranged units have minimum range when they can actually shoot effectively at melee range. Plus the side arms. I understand that this is a game but some of the games I know don't even have that.

Re: English units
Look for medieval cavalry at wikipedia. Maybe there is a part about weapkry or equipment, there should be something about lance for cavalry
Also, i made some changes for the final version of some units. They are posted at "ready for jsons." Then, dont get surprised if lancer stats arent that good as late knight

Re: English units
Just some of them will have it for balancing. Also, bayondt musketeers used to shoot a few salvas and charge, not shooting at the fightDreJaDe wrote: ↑Sun Apr 19, 2020 12:33 amThat's kinda a problem cause there's no text to this types of unit except I guess from the AOS

Re: English units
I don't really understand but what I mean by the proper Knight is that it is like the knights in AOS not the light cav.

Re: English units
Well this is meant to be the normal swordman from the 15th century, naturally as swordmen didnt exist in this period id imagine that if they existed, theycwould wear extensive armour.
So no this isnt meant to be a knight nor an upgrade.

What is it based on?

Re: English units
I mashed up several english soldiers from the 15 th century, in reality there were no swordmen as we think of them, maybe i can give him a tabbard so he can hide his breastplate and look less "knightly".

Re: English units
Btw I made tlmy images for them using this reference.
And many more but this could a good distinction for their uniform since like Grul said. They don't have a professional army.

Re: English units
Oh I see, well I think we are running into an issue here.
Are we starting from the 1400s or the 1450s?

Re: English units
This can be used as an upg cause it looks way too armored if not on closed look. What I made is just the unit with chain armor and helmet and of course the distinction.
It also needs some polishing. And the shield should be a buckler based on L4cus suggestion.
Re: English units
Then, give him a bill to look more like the image
Also, we can change the footman concept for levies
Sword levy, spear levy, pike levy
In addition to that, the billman and the halberdier (idk if they should have it) like more proffesional units
