version 1.017 PUBLISHED to GooglePlay

In this forum I post the changes on the DEVELOPER version of the game.
These versions are (at the time i post them) not yet published to google play, only registered testers can download it and test it before publishing.

Non-tester forumers: if you want to get the DEVELOPER version (to see the changes sooner, or you want to try your own map designs) please EMAIL me to zerotouchsystems at gmail dot com to register yourself as a tester.

We have a SERIOUS PROBLEM with the 1.016 version that is publihed to GP, some maps have lockup (no crash, simply AI stops doing anything locking the screen)
the reason is the code simplifications/speedups i recently did.

one of the locking map i know is: Age of Nyadhos - Little bear map in a few next turn presses it got locked up (in not even any of the FFW modes)

i am on it and will ask u to help testing the fixed version.

i have a temporary workaround to the problem, the drawback is we lose the animations of the AI, i will show AI movements like the FFW button would be pressed (so u will not see archer arrows, catapult fireball sprite flying to target, and unit movement animations).

it seems stable for me, i think i have to publish this version temporarily until i fix the AI animations that caused the lockups (i think at least...)

up on server in 5. please if u can test it in various games, random, multiplayer, campaign, camapaign maps with thriggers and so on - would be a great help.

also: is it very bad losing the AI movements and publishing that version? what is your opinion?

It is bad to lose Ai animation but as long as the map is big and the game works fine , i dont care 8-)

I agree. It is pretty bad to lose the AI animation, and we'll need to get it back eventually, but it is really important to get this bug fixed as soon as possible.

yes. i know. so i must rollback everything back to the v1015 losing all speedups.

ok, now i have rolled back all speedups. and the new FFW button.

please help me testing it because i have to publish it in a few hours!
please write here what u have checked! thanks!

what i have in my mind
- random games playing with different AI-s (allies/enemies)
- random games on old style TMX(old) maps, and new on-device edited ones.
- campaign maps same: TMX/ondevice versions
- winning, withdrawing
- newtwork games, taking your turn/withrdrawing
- network game winning - (but i dont think anyone can finish a network game in a few hours)
- all above with varying FFW and not FFW button pressed, also pressing button on varying places:
eg.
a) on your "AI" turn (when archers fire arrows if u did not attacked with them),
b) and in AI turns.

please write here if u have checked any of these and tell me if u have found any lockup/crash or any other problem.

i have checked:
- campaign map ondevice edited, with varying FFW button, losing.

Am checking (with friends) the online multiplayer.

So far so good. We are taking turns, some old maps, some new maps, some with AI, and different team setups. We'll start checking withdrawals and victories.

Okay. The multiplayer seems to be working. I didn't see anything out of the ordinary.

We did 7 games all different with AI setup and fog. All had no issues and we successfully terminated all either by withdrawal or victory.
