Teach Drawing Units

Post by patroid »

Hi
Avalyn , COOLguy, Elvenprincess, Alexander82,Dust'n'steel, and many others that designed
Units for the game.... pls post some How To's and helpful things here (i already made few things i gonna post here)

------------------Already made this------------------------
The .rar contains now around 640 Unit Images.
I updated it today and hope.i forgot no image. But every
Designer.for this game should download this.rar.

If there are problem i can mail You the rar as rar or zip.

I uploaded it here: http://ageofstrategy.bplaced.net/Units/Units.rar

Hope You Trust My Link xD.
---------------------------------------------------------------

I myself can hopefully explain shading a bit,
COOlguy and elven pls explain texturing (thats your huge strength)
and Alexander and avalyn are good in starting imges from skreth, draw proportions
and in designing a object (add fancy cool stuff)

You see i too have tried making images but the problem is that i do it on phone and without a thin stylus(which i cannot find any where) it is impossible to make them
I would think it helpful if you post a video which shows making a new image completely, editing a pre existing image and how to start making an image( i have always noticed patroid makes a drawing before making the pixel art)

I can help u with the drawing part- as i am a wonderful artist myself on paper(not boasting though)
I will take a bit of time to learn pixel arting- but i will soon , as i learnt triggering
BEWARE!!!!The long lost empire of phoenicia is rising- The world is but just near the golden age, wherein men played and frolicked, without any worries at all

I use "GIMP 2" to do my pixel editing, on our desktop computer. COOlguy and I have talked about making tutorials, but we never got around to it. We will have to see what we can do. :)

Paint.Net also has all the features you need for the images. :)

True it is also freeware: However - If you do not already use Paint.net use GIMP2 since most of us AoS designers use it. So you will get clearer help and collaboration from the community. :)
If you need an rar extractor, I use RarZilla
Thanks!

Hi,
Well the elecarthage is a not posted elefant upgrade
Of myself.
Bonegolem is a resized golwm image from the Bone golem Topic.
Spahi 2 is in spahi unit topic (turkish cav)
The siege tower got refused in the Siege Tower Topic for aos
( you (daniel) said that the siege tower in aof is better the the one
I made for aos.
No clue where file-47 comes from..but.i think it was the warship upgrade section.
File 15 is Ness Viking Ship poste a half year ago.
File-49 is a image you (daniel) posted in the new tc topic ( idk if aos or aof)
And romangarisson is mady by firstspeaker and shaded by Coocguy and a Actual Voteable Unit.

Hi guys, this is a post to others, who like myself struggle understanding those programs.

I use this: Piskel
http://www.piskelapp.com/

Its pretty cool i think...and very easy to use (even i figured it out lol). Though one question: Can anyone find the bloody undo button??

I believe ctrl + z is undo in 99.9% of programs. :)

I use photoshop and i usually use different methods depending on the result i eant to obtain. Sometimes i use a resized image on the bsckground layer to use it as a guide for my drawing.

What i always suggest is to make copies of the various layers and avoid deleting stuff until you are 100% sure you wont use it.

What?! That is really strange. Did you press ctr+z in that order and hold both buttons down? I am startled to hear that it doesn't work in an art program...
