Nope. They had both types of weapons.

This sounds a lot like ww1 not ww2, but hey, maybe in some remote places it was useful, should they not have the moment penalty for snow?

No movement penalty on snow. Soviet uses cavalry quite a lot since lack of vehicles.

Hi,
There were some Cossack tribes in russia that fought with and against russia over the course of history.
Those also fought in the big world wars for russia. So pls name them cossacks.
And btw the image comes pretty close to what cossacks actual looked in ww. Except that they had capes and swords in addition to firearms.

Because they were fighting mainly with inafntries.
Also light tanks i think must not have bonus to them but to compensate medium and heavy tanks do full damage to them when they are mounted (only).
Also infantries must have bonus as well to them in mounted form.
This way dismounted form will be valuable as well.

Why? Normal russian infantry must have 42 hp as well.

Okay I can do with lower power (8) with Hp of 42, and yes they should be lower than infantry because the came move faster.

No way.
In AoS cavalry has higher health and damage. NOT lower. And this cavalry must have same.
Remember that most infantries must have invisibility ability while this unit will not have one as well as it can't see them.
Also we can limit where you can train them (barracks only), remove veteraning effect.

I don't think that cavalry should have higer hp/attack than normal infantry.
Also,infantries have no such albitly,at least yet. I'm not sure if something like that doesn't require coding,dont speak about it like it already exists.
Cavalry units in ww2 fought mostly like dragoons-using horses to get on place,and fighting on foot.
Belry might have a point-raider,on high horse with out way to cover,is definitely easier to shoot target than a covering-everywhere-he-can infantrymen. It might little harder to use the ralfies top.
I suggest little less hp while in cavalry form,but normal on ground.
If we won't give them grenades,and they will have penalty on forest,then we can even make them cost 2.

They hadn't grenades. They i think must have penalty on snow and in swamps in cavalry firm because for horses it is way harder to move through snow and swamps.
As for forests it was main place where they attacked from and hide then so historically accurate it wouldn't be good.
For attack and hp in cav form as well as shooting from the horse - they were mostly ex-cossacks or just veterans of civil war 1917-1922 and they could even hsot into your eye from 200 meters while moving on horse. They WERE veterans. So they must have a bit higher attack (with veteraning power 3 infantry will get +15 hp and +3 attack and they have 30% chance in total to get some veteraning power) and same hp. Think about them as elite gun infantry who hasn't any grenades (it is really hard to throw grenade on horse and if they even would have it then they must have 40-50% miss chance)
They also can't do serious damage to tanks.

1. In mounted version they must have bonus against infantries and this way we can lower their damage by 1.
