Hwacha - IMPLEMENTED

The ancient Chinese made a machine that shoots 100 arrows at once. It was widely used but became forgotten, it didn't have an english name either.

Can someone give it a name and put it in the game.

The machine should have a splash damage on at least 9 squares, I think 25 should do...

holy crap, that sounds OP. 9 splash damage? and 25 damage? wow.

arrows in this game typically do like 5-7 damage. Not 25. Thats like a catapult :roll:

K00 do you mean hwacha. If you mean it wasnt chinese it was korean.

Fire arrows were rockets that were invented in China. Launcher should have really many actions but really bad accuracy.

Stats

Cost 6
Power 6
Hp 10
Armour 0/6
Actions 10
Speed 2

Accuracy: can miss by even three tiles.
Chance to hit: to targeted tile 35%, to miss by one tile 35%, to miss by two tiles 20%, to miss by three tiles 10%

So the Hwacha as far as i know was a Korean rocket / arrow launcher that could shoot 50ish rocket propelled arrow at once at once.
The stats could be like

Cost 5-6
Hp 25
Attack 30
Range 7-8
Armor 1-2
Pierce Armor 3
Speed 3-4
Sight 6-7
Action 2
Spell Resistance 40%

Although it would be not very accurate
What do you think?

Cool, maybe it could be a siege weapon that can shoot multiple, non-accurate shots in one turn? Like a slinger on steroids? :)

Now that i think about it i should it have a large amount of actions with little damage to represent a single fire arrow
or should it be a high damage and less actions to represent a barrage?

I think it should have couple of attacks paired with a spell that is called barrage which does lots of area damage / fire starting
It should have a good COOLdown

Wow sounds cool you can take out huge armies of weak infantry with this.

So high cost 8
Medium hp 20
Weak attack with a lot of area damage 5 for 2 attacks in one turn and 3 or 4 for 4 attacks in a turn
Medium range 6
Low armor 1
Medium pierce armor 3
Low speed 1
2 or 3 actions in a turn
And it would be able to set things on fire (this might make it to strong because of the 3 burning effects)

I don't know if it should set things on fire. These were more like rockets I thought? From gunpowder? An explosion of that type typically wouldn't start significant fires I don't think.

Although I like the huge area damage + multiple attacks :)

I would imagine that the Hwacha would require the gunpowder tech and can only be made in castles

So you guys are thinking something like:

cost - 7
Hp - 20
attack - 3 with splash
range - 6
armor 1
pierce armor - 3
speed - 1
actions - 4

If I'm wrong or left something out just edit.

Well... the art for this is proving to be more difficult than I thought.

COOLguy, can I get the art for the catapult? It should be easier to start from something that doesn't look like dog vomit. :lol:

Ah very cool. I never heard of this weapon before. But after googling, I do recognise it..maybe from a dream lol

Anyway, I like the stats. Except I think:
Movement should be 2.
HP should be low.

Definitely should be buildable in castles, gunpowder tech. 5 turns.

Im thinking either mass splash idea, or multi (like gatling tower) inaccurate shots. Both are good.

The image is a little blurry, I can't really make out what the box thing is exactly. Maybe try using less colors, and more solid colors, with outlines to make the siege weapon look a bit more sharp. :)
