Structure - Tower (all races) - OUTDATED

Daniel and i talked about the towers from the elves, orcs and undead, these races actually don't have any mechanical knowledge, so the towers need to change. The tower shouldn't be able to shoot any more.
But the tower should keep its supportive role in the game, so it should heal the garrisoned units at least. Here are already some ideas:

For the elves:
Tree outpost can't shoot anymore, and will give the garrisoned unit increased range

For the undead:
Option 1, sorcerer tower, There's some kind of mist or aura around the tower that will confuse enemies and will change flying objects.
Example: when enemy with range (trebuchet, archer) attacks this building, it get a 20-40% chance to shoot the projectile (the arrow, or rock) back to the attacker.
When enemy is close range: get a 20-40% chance to convert it for 1 turn(unit is hallucinating and will attack it's own allies). When it's converted the undead can't delete the unit to prevent abuse.

Option 2: the undead can summon ghost units in the tower (every 4-5 turns?). These units can be ghoul, lich, undead knight etc. For the undead it will looks like a ghost. But for the enemy it will look like a normal unit. The ghost can't attack and when the ghost unit is hit it will instantly die though.
The ghosts can be used as diversion or as defence, because the enemy will attack some of the ghosts instead of the real units.

For the orcs
?

For Orcs: Stone tower made from great stones.
Somebody on it that throw rocks low range.

undead option 1 is way too Op.

all have special towers now.
however none of them have special ability (only the elf one) .

So I noticed that only humans have towers that shoot stuff... is this gonna change in the future?

no, not only humans will have shooting ones, but the current "towers" will not, only the human, other races's will have other special abilitied if they dont have now (eg. elf tower already has a vision effect)

there was an other discussion about tower abilities - good that u mentioned it will put it into "to-do-list before launching)

For undead i'd make a soul reaver tower, if any enemy -living- unit is killed in a certain range there is a certain chance that he'll respawn as a ghost

One idea for towers would be to have "guard" based towers that summon or build weaker units with a vanish counter. Could work in any race, but an example using existing creatures and abilities would be an elf building, wolf den, which has the druid ability to summon wolves, same vanish 3, as well as garrison and heal as with any other tower. This makes a strong defensive unit that can stall with more than its own life and is more unique than a basic shooting tower.

Maybe undead tower could have "fear" aura to enemies

orc tower speciality idea: what about an exploding or rumbling orc stone tower?

- on an effect it is exploding/bigstones running down from it,
- but the tower itself will be destroyed
-- or maybe only lose some HP (eg. 40%).

what do u think?

Why don't a lava effect around towers?
every round you can spit lava in a tile in a range of 2 around the tower
lava has vanishing effect (maybe 6) and if a enemy unit steps on lava automatically remove it and receive 50 damage and a burning effect

I don't really like the laver idea. Its good, but sounds a little OP. Maybe if the vanishing effect was 3 it would be better?
I personally prefer Daniels exsploding rubble idea.

what if the tower make aoe damage in a short range? like some sort of eruption.

yes, i thought similar, you can "wxplode" or "rumble" it ans would cause damage on adjaent units (or on 2 tile range.)

yes, but it should make damage only to enemy units, otherwise you wouldn't be able to make towers near walls or other towers

I think that the undead tower should raise nearby undeads instead of transforming into a golem

The situation has changed a lot so we might just propose new towers later on.
