Militia

Local militia. Armed with older weapons. Have a very good sight (know the area better) and high movement speed.

I like weaker scout infantry concept, but I don't think it should be militia. Militia knows area better, but only it's home area. So it will be senseful if they had higher movement and sight, but only on area they were created in-kindda hard to make, besides we will have maps on Mars-like planets, that can't really be home area of militia.

How about rangers instead?

Hmm... Yeah, just make it see stelht units. They have specisl devices to see thermal signatures or something.

We could have different units for detecting stealth. These are to cheap for that and in future aliens might use invisible technology or something.
