Druid tech spell - Shapeshifting

When you research this tech druids learn the shapeshift spell and can transform in one animal form of their choice.

1) Bear
Slower but with high hp and power

2) Eagle
Flying and very fast unit but low hp and damage

3) Wolf
Medium speed, damage and hp and bonuses when attacking near other wolves (high bonus with multiple druids)

4) Serpent
Good speed, low damage and medium hp, it has a poison effect

The druid can't use spells other than turnin back to its elven form when in animal form.

Heh old topic you decided to bump mightyguy. I think it might be nice, but we've got a lot already on the table for elves as it is, and they aren't going to get anything more voted in for 3+ weeks more.
Currently residing at the local ninja academy. I'm still watching though.

Druids domn't loose that role. They simply can be used in a way or the other but they still can turn back in their form and use spells.

I discussed with @General Brave since we are working on new implementation and we agreed to create new stats for every unit and for the druid.

We'll raise the druid cost at 4, or 5 at most, but he will become a much more effective unit.

questions:
1. in wolf form his aura will affect only other druids in wolf form or their summons as well?
2. will he affected in these forms by nature tech for damage increase instead of elven blacksmith?
3. for snakes can you add speed 2 in water?
4. his normal spells are the same?
5. will he have cooldown on transformations?

1) I want to make it affect summons too. I was wondering if 1 wasn't too much and make it 0.5 since you can affect a lot of small units at once with more druids.

2) I didn't consider that but yes. Maybe I should rethink some of these to avoid overpowering some elven units

3) I think it is fair

4) yes but he can't cast spells in animal shape

5) the spell will, but you can stay transformed as long as you want

1. This is depends on range of aura as well. Remember that the more you have in nearly same range druids in this form the less units they can buff. Also you need either wolf dens or druids in normal form for summoning wolfes too. (Unless you want to add this spell as castable for wolf form).
This form must not affect any other units of elves - only druids in wolf form and summoned wolves.
2. I think not all forms must be affected by nature tech: only bear, wolf and maybe snake.

5. If i remember correctly yoi wanted to make it so that after transformation into animal form druid will be healed.
This is the main reason why am i asking - for not overusage of this healing.

1) I agree. Having wolves a high speed I think that having a range smaller than 5 or 6 can be difficult to use. Anyway we can make as many wolf den's as we want. This might definitely become a viable strategy

2) why? If we make nature's tech a prerequisite we can take its bonus into account for stats

2. eagle form is not for fighting so it doesn't need high damage. also i don't get why eagle has 70% dodge counter while snake has 50% dodge arrows.
Snake form - i think it must have dodge counter as well (high one).
Prefered AoS games: AoS, AoF (humans, elves, orcs, dwarves)

The dodge counter is because it attacks and fly away. Anyway we can remove that.

Anyway since nature's tech gives +3 attack we can simply reduce the base attack by 3

It will have the same as elves have since it retains dodge (I think it's 40 or 50% plus tech bonus)

One problem with this.
It tops druid off at 10 spells.
You would have to get rid 4 spells to add this, and the other problem is people would use the druid only, if you split them off to the other druids, that might fix this issue.

Nope. It is possible to make unit with 10 spells.
Also if elf wizard's spells will be revamped than druid would be not the only caster of elves whom people will use.
