A nice unit forgotten and bruised inside the sands of time.
IS NOW REBORN

or we can leave it dead because we like only short dwarfs ?

Maybe if the image looks a bit more refined, everyone must hurry up, I'll be giving Stratego the newest units and things.

I think about not that barbarian giant unit but more like wc3 like mountain king in avatar form will work great.

I will start making him (as a stone avatar able to avenge all the wrong deeds that the dwarfs suffered).

Sounds cool. Do we have stats for it alrerady?

Also I'm not sure if it's on purpose but it's actually spelled "Giant" and not "Gigant", unless it's the name of some fantasious unit that I'm missing or you just made it up.

Can we change name to the Thane?

Giant elder rune mage blessed with power from gods of Great Forge. Has teleportation ability (similar to flying but has same restrictions as ground units (can't land on water/mountains/obstacles) and count as ground unit) and wave of fire active ability.
Stats will be later.

This is a unit post made to discuss the implementation of hiants not thanes.

Also the thanes you described sound like demi-gods.
I know Thanes from warhammer and they are just champions of the dwarfs. Also the use of runes and magic is separate at warhammer and warcraft but both are fantasy worlds (so nothing really makes sense).

I suggest you to make a different post for Thanes to discuss more about them.

^ Same, giants and thanes look like different beings.

Also Thane only reminds me of Skyrim.  (Anyone remember the Thanes from Skyrim? lol)

To say the truth this is the first time i hear giants for dwarfs.

(How do they fit to those small holes the dwarfs call homes)

Dwarf: Small holes? Our keeps are gigantic with huge ceilings...

I have no idea they may not fit thematically.

Maybe it really shouldn't be for dwarfs, I was inspired by some minor games series called "King's bounty"...
In Warhammer, giants are with orcs and chaos. But orcs have engoun giant units. In lotr there were no such creature I think. Idk about Warcraft. Maybe give them to humans, since many complain they don't have engoun fantasy units, but that doesn't make much sense for me.

That games were kinda parody, but only a little. Dwarfs+giants worked because of contrast probably, dwarfs small, giants... Gigantic. :D Also because both lived in mountains there.
