Undead- skeleton dragon - IMPLEMENTED
Undead- skeleton dragon - IMPLEMENTED
I looked at Daniel's list and this gained my attention.
my idea:
large (maybe 2*2 or overlapping)
high health
high attack
no armor
maybe area damage
cooldown after attack it has a 1 turn long cooldown (it can't attack during that time)
slow. maybe 2 movement.
what do ya think?

Re: Undead- skeleton dragon
I meant to address this, as well...sounds great, but i'd give it an armor...possibly 1 or 2-dragons are naturally armored...but it should probably be an upgrade...this is a super-unit if ever there was one...
It should definitely have area damage-breath weapon(upon successful hit it converts enemy units to undead?)

It's better to keep your mouth shut and let people wonder if you're a fool than to open it and remove all doubt...
Re: Undead- skeleton dragon
I like it, but converting units to undead does not make alot of sense.
"I don't care who I have to step on on my way down."
Re: Undead- skeleton dragon
Maybe it should be called "Skeletal Dragon"? Sounds cooler.
Yeah, I agree he should have two attacks, melee [with his claws and mouth] and dragon-breath. Melee should be quite high, and as for dragon breath...
I was first thinking fire, but as it is undead, maybe a darkness breath, or a withering effect? (Not converting)
Any ideas for bonuses?
I would give it high armor, and low health, because bone is kind of already an armor.
Plus he should be immune, like all other dragons, to effects like disarmor.
Yes, for its breath.
Additionally: You could give it two "states", on the ground and in the air. So when it's on the ground it moves slower plus can't go over walls, water, etc, and when in the air it moves faster, but cannot attack with melee (or be attacked with melee, breath-range is decreased drastically, and armor slightly decreases (as it's wings are out, you can hit the dragon's weak spot).
Breath range: On ground, 3 or 4
In air, 1 or 2
2 by 2 is a bit big for a unit... But it's a dragon, so I'd like overlapping.balint wrote: large (maybe 2*2 or overlapping)

Yes, for its breath.
My first thought was "no way! That's too slow!" But I now see as it has an advantage of going over water/walls. But still, for a flying creature, it must go faster than a walking unit! I'd say 4/5.balint wrote:slow. maybe 2 movement.

Re: Undead- skeleton dragon
Also, in air, it has a bigger view.
Re: Undead- skeleton dragon
okay.
it should't fly, because it's wings have rot.
so what about this: able to move over mountains and water, but still move slowly.
the cooldown for attacks-> I meant every single attack, because it needs time to prepare itself.
armor-> big meale armor and a smaller pierce armor
health: maybe 50?
turns:10+
attack: basic claw attacks with area damage
special skill: like the mage's fire ball. but maybe has a longer range

Re: Undead- skeleton dragon
Okay...
What would you think of my idea for the other dragons?
I think it doesn't need to prepare itself for melee attacks, as it's just swiping with it's claws, but there could be a charge-up for a more powerful melee attack, a charge or a ram. He could even swallow up a weakened enemy to regain health...
I didn't think of area damage melee attacks, like an elephant, but I think it is a great idea!
Fire attacks - Well, I think it should be less ranged than a mage's fireball, but have more total damage because mages are using magic but dragons must use their breath, which won't go nearly as far. Also, it would be very overpowered as you would have a dragon shooting fireballs at the enemy behind your lines where it's impossible for the enemy to get to him. Even if an Archer does hit him, he can be quickly healed.

Re: Undead- skeleton dragon
okay.
what about this?:
normal attack-> no area, it bites
charging 1->it spins it's feets in 180 degrees, damaging every units in a 2 tile area.
chargong 2-> ranged area attack, fire breath
this would make it quite op, but this is a boss ubit after all.

Re: Undead- skeleton dragon
You could only allow one dragon at a time per team, so it is less op.
Re: Undead- skeleton dragon
Oh OK.
Re: Undead- skeleton dragon
instead of fire breath what about this: Eldricht flame
Green-black flameball, Which makes the target burn (two times as much as simple burning)
AND
it transfer the hp of the unit to the dragon
