Military drummer - IMPLEMENTED

This unit is not meant to fight but to give units the rythm of march.
It gives a +1 bonus to units speed in a certain range (he also benefit from the bonus).
I was thinking that it should have a low cost (2 or 3) and low stats, about the range i think that 4 could be ok (this unit should stay out of fight).

Sounds like fun. At range four he could only benefit the slow moving infantry, which is how I think it should be. :)

It should affect every flesh and blood unit, but knight the next round would go out of the effect, so they wouldn't become too fast

Okay ;)

Wait were drummers used in the medieval period? Or was it like a horn thing that they used? :?

I think they used both. I'vejust searched for drums though and found some information about its use in the early medieval period
Among ancient war drums that can be mentioned, junjung was used by the Serer people in West Africa. The Rigveda describes the war drum as the fist of Indra.[1]

In early medieval Europe, the use of the drum for military purposes did not begin until the crusades.[2] (p. 19) [3] The European armies first encountered them used by the Islamic military forces, who used primarily their traditional kettledrums, and found that the sound would particularly affect the Crusader's horses, who had not previously encountered them. By the early 13th century the Crusaders used them also.

I dont kinda think its logical. I mean if the units are to move on beats, how is that supposed to increase their speed?? Also if implemented, the effect should not be stack able , ie even if a unit has 3 drummers in range, his speed should increase only by 1

It gives the sense of rythm. Like oarsmen in galleys.

Then it should affect health and power , not speed

It's mostly rythm... that's why at the gym they always put music to accompany excercise

Very good idea but i agree with TheBluePhoenix about units only getting +1 speed even if there are multiple drummers in the area to prevent units moving at about 100 tiles per turn

the effect is the same, it wouldn't stack, i totally agree with that (it would be too op and also unrealistic)

the idea is good, but i dont remember any drummers in medieval era. can u show some?

on the other hand i saw banner bearers, heroes that cause increase in morale, so those directions are ok to have.

I think the first one was better.
