If a building is built to say stage four, and is attacked so loses enough health to go back down to the previous stage, would it switch images or stay same...

IMHO, this seems too hard code based to be worth it, plus it would be confusing and it is not essential for dwarves either.

I like undead dragon but human and elf dragons don't really fit in, and you cant make them out much. a little tweaking should do.

Keeping in mind about dwarves aspects (Defense++, Speed--, Health+, etc) The only attack would either be weak, or powerful, with long cooldowns Ice rune - "freezing" enemies for a short time? Fire rune - I had trouble finding a dwarven spell for this... Healing rune - heals, and gives a temporary ar...

I'd prefer the idea of wild dragons, for orcs, elves and humans and resurrecting dragons for undead, as in my previous comment.

There is no rule for who has dragons. In one book I read, only the ancient Valheru could ride them, while in another they were as easy as riding a flying donkey. (every one can ride them) This basically means you can do whatever you want with dragons, and personally I would prefer for everyone to be...

Earth rune for sheild magic spell?
Air rune for the Arcane fog spell?
Fire rune for a new spell that switches attack and defense of the subject?
