If you want to read I definitely recommrnd the night angel trilogy. It is a dark fantasy with romance (altough there isn't much of it) and a large amount of death, including main characters.

Should the executor be 2*2 or 3*3 large?
If we chose the 3*3 we can make the capital ships 2*2 and the smaller ships 1*1

If we make it 2*2 we should make all other units 1*1

Basically an RPG with more complex elements?
Do you have any ideas how you imagine it?
(I've been working one functions for rpgs quite a lot because I really like the mixture of rpg and strategy, so I may be able to help you with this.)

The main problem with the executor class in the game is, that it would be waaay to overpowered compared to rebell ships like the Mon Calamary and the liberty class.

It should be a hero unit which is either not avaiablw for construction or you can only have one during the entire game.

The total war series (medieval 2 total war was the best)
Star wars empire at war
Battle brothers

Not strategy but it requires strategic skill: mount and blade warband.
